The 2014 IPC Shooting World Championships will be the fifth edition organised under IPC Shooting. Around 250 athletes from approximately 45 countries are expected to gather in the town of Suhl, Germany, which has a rich shooting heritage.
2010 IPC Shooting World Championships, Zagreb, Croatia
More than 240 athletes from 44 countries competed over ten days of competition in the Croatian capital.Organised by the Croatian Paralympic Committee, South Korea topped the medals table with 19 gongs in total, including eight golds. China followed with 14 and Russia in third with seven.
2006 IPC Shooting World Championships, Sargans, Switzerland
2002 IPC Shooting World Championships, Seoul, Korea
A total of nine world records were broken at the 2002 World Championships, four individual and five team. A total of 211 athletes from 36 countries gathered to compete with twenty nations leaving with at least one medal. China walked away with the glory of first place in the medals table with six gold, three silver and three bronze medals. Home nation Korea nearly finished joint first, just missing out by one bronze medal. Germany completed the top three.
1994 IPC Shooting World Championships, Linz, Austria
The 1994 competition heralded the first World Championships under the stewardship of IPC Shooting. 147 athletes from 23 countries were keen to set the bar high and achieved a total of 22 world records, equally split across individual and team. Germany finished the competition with 19 medals, nearly half of which were gold. Sweden came second in the medals table with 14 medals and Denmark third with eight.
